The Day of Service on Saturday, April 25, 2009 was a smashing success.

In the City of Ladue, 571 volunteers collected 4.87 tons, or 9,740 pounds, of trash in Deer Creek and its tributaries, including Black Creek, Two-Mile Creek, and Magnolia Creek. The City was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) for the city’s sponsorship and participation in the April Creeks Cleanup.

The success of “The Ladue Model” for creek cleanups was in part due to a 17 week plan for a suburban watershed clean up developed by Ladue citizens in collaboration with the City of Ladue as an adaptation of Missouri's well-established Stream Team program.
